Health problems are a primary cause of loss of flight status. That’s why we have full time Senior Aeromedical Physician on staff serving as our Medical Director along with other Senior AME's. The Senior Aeromedical Physician serves as a medical resource and provides free medical advice to our membership.

 

Mark Maness is our Medical Editor. He has over 20 years’ experience editing medical journals and oversees the Aviation Medical Bulletin. This monthly publication brings timely health information, FAA policy changes and the latest health studies in a concise, summarized format.  

 

Aviation Health Association is headed by Medical Director Dr. Fred Tilton, M.D. who is a certified specialist in Aerospace Medicine from the American Board of Preventive Medicine. Dr. Tilton has been working with pilots for his entire career. Prior to joining us, Dr. Tilton was the Federal Air Surgeon in Washington D.C. 

 

Our staff of 30 medical experts are all trained by the FAA AeroMedical Examiner training course in OKC, OK at the Civil Aviation Medical Institute.  We have an average of 17 years professional experience and you can rest assured that any doctor, Flight Surgeon Nurse, or Medical Consultant has the expertise you need and the time to work with you.
